Folding Beijing

I’m pretty stoked to be returning to Malthouse Theatre this year to take part in a creative development and public reading of a brand new adaptation of Folding Beijing

Commissioned by Playking Productions and adapted by Daniel Keene, Jingfang's extraordinary vision of a hyper-developed future in which three cities coexist in one is brought to life through the vivid story of Lao Dao, a garbage collector who attempts to cross the great divide.”

Directed by Matt Lutton, Artistic director of Malthouse, and working with a brilliant cast, it’s going to be a pretty intense week! It’ll be part of AsiaTOPA, with the public reading on Feb 29 at 11:30am

Hatched 2019

One of my greatest sources of inspiration and joy are the teens that I teach with St. Martin’s. As the year winds down, we’re getting ready for our end of year performance called Hatched. What a way to end the year. I hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year, and let’s ring in 2020!

What a fantastic night! I only got to see 2 of the other playlets but they were wonderful. There was such an incredible buzz in the air. Our piece was incredibly well received.

‘Will Stacey and Sam, the perfect mermaid couple, survive when Stacey grows legs? Or will flesh and blood destroy their lives?’ featuring the song of the same name by Harry Nilsson.

Red Stitch Playlist

So as of next week, I will have debuted as a director! I’m very happy to announce the playlet I’ll be directing for the 2019 Playlist. How Can I Be Sure Of You? will be written by Ra Chapman, and I’m bloody stoked to have two amazing actors with me, Justin Hosking and Lucy Ansell. It’ll be a fun night of 12 short plays, staged in various rooms and stairwells and bathrooms and car parks around Trades Hall. I hope you can join us.

ATOMIC take 2

We’re back in the rehearsal room for our remount production of Atomic! The gang is back together, except this time, we’re missing Rohan, but we’re joined by Bernard Sam! All new energy in the room, and some script tweaks here and there, and one additional (total heartbreaker of a) scene.
