Normally an announcement for a grant for a week long development like this does not warrant a post but this entire photoshoot tickled me so much. I was JUST off my flight from Hong Kong and I immediately drove out to Geelong for a publicity shoot because Michael Carmody (who I’ve been working with on The Word) has submitted the the two of us for a grant to adapt Lost Horizons into a show. There were lots more photos that I had forgotten to save and we were incredibly bewildered and so yeah, apparently I’m working on this in 2024.
Pram People in Hong Kong!
Oh my goodness I am the luckiest girl alive. We were in Hong Kong for two weeks doing some creative development for the Hong Kong version of Pram People. We’re checking out the location, collecting local stories, hanging out with local kids and doing some sound recording. West Kowloon has taken such good care of us and we can’t wait to bring the rest of the team back next year!
The Word (development showing)
After 2 terms with a week long intensive, we got to show a bit of the fruits of our labour. It is such a huge work and it’s going to be glorious next year, but for now, we need a loooooong rest.
Image of an Unkonwn Young Woman
I keep forgetting to take photos of things I’m a part of this year, which, I assure you, is more a testiment of how involving they’ve been and not how much I care to document. I have adored every single minute of directing my VCA 2nd year babies this year and here is a video of them warming up to prove to you how adorable they are.
Legend of White Snake (Creative Development)
Getting to work with Joe Lui again has been a goal of mine and it’s good to know that he felt the same way. Together with Wendy Yu, we are working on adapting the Legend of White Snake which is a story I cherished as a child. I did not take any photos. It is with Malthouse. We will be working on this sporadically through the year, maybe I’ll get better at taking photos?
